Custom Leather Finishing Production Process

A useful process starts with the real product data. The sequence below shows the decision flow used to prepare a project; individual operations vary by design.

  1. Project information review
  2. Material and process evaluation
  3. Sample preparation when agreed
  4. Customer confirmation
  5. Production preparation
  6. Wrapping and finishing operations
  7. Project-defined inspection
  8. Packing and shipment preparation

1. Project and structure review

Photos, drawings, dimensions, substrate, material preference, quantity and target finish are reviewed. Missing information and functional constraints are identified before a quotation is finalized.

2. Material and finishing plan

The planned process may include wrapping, covering, hot pressing, stitching, edge painting or a combination. Material thickness, grain direction, corners, openings and assembly interfaces are considered.

3. Confirmation and production

When sampling is included in the agreed project, the result and relevant requirements are confirmed before production preparation. Production then follows the approved material, construction and finish information.

4. Inspection and packing

Inspection points are defined around the project’s cosmetic and functional requirements. Packing must protect the finished surface and product configuration agreed for shipment.
