Custom Leather Wrapping for Products & Components
Leather wrapping applies a cut and prepared leather or PU layer around a product surface, housing or component. The objective is to achieve the required appearance while managing corners, openings, joints, adhesive areas and assembly interfaces.
Suitable product types
This process can be evaluated for housings, cases, boxes, panels, accessories and other custom structures with a surface that can accept a leather covering. Suitability depends on geometry and material behavior.

Process evaluation points
- Part shape, draft angles, recesses and openings
- Substrate compatibility and adhesive area
- Leather thickness, stretch and grain direction
- Corner, seam, overlap and edge strategy
- Assembly tolerances after material is applied
- Cosmetic reference and acceptable variation
A flat decorative panel and a compound-curved enclosure do not use the same preparation. Early review helps identify where relief cuts, seams, tooling or another process may be needed.
Common supporting processes
Depending on the design, leather wrapping can be combined with hot pressing, stitching or edge painting. The sequence is defined around the part and required finish.
What to send for review
Provide a photo or drawing, dimensions, substrate, material preference, quantity and target finish. Mark any assembly surfaces or openings that must remain clear.
